Federico Ressi 5424fb3224 Improve ping utils

- fix PingFailed exception message.
- set default ping timeout to 60 seconds
- set ping deadline to 10 seconds
- convert command to string to avoid mixing up unicode with not unicode.
- trace ping execution to log file
